Workshops & Education

Group workshops & private lessons are available for scheduling. Facilitator provides basic bookbinding tools for up to 15 participants. Pricing available upon request; quotes provided based on project scope and budget. Some (not all!) options below:

  • Bookbinding BasicsA beginner-friendly bookbinding workshop where you’ll sew a simple pamphlet notebook—perfect for zines, journals, or chapbooks—and take home your own handmade book. We’ll provide all materials and guide you step by step through the process. No experience needed. 
  • Pocket Journal-Making (Sewn-Boards Binding)Participants learn the sewn-boards binding style, a bookbinding technique that requires minimal materials and tools while creating a book that lies flat when open, excellent for writing, drawing, planning, etc. Each participant will take home a 120-page blank pocket-size journal.
  • Bookbinding for Library Workers A hands-on workshop for library staff exploring bookbinding terms, tools, and techniques. Connect creative making with practical repair skills and program possibilities for craft and material literacies in library settings.
  • Books Are Connections: Collaborative Bookbinding for TeamsA team-building workshop where colleagues co-create a shared book that each participant binds, crafting tangible works of collective creativity and collaboration within the workplace.
